Compressed air plays an essential role in producing superior quality dairy products which forms the basis of a long-term history and partnership with Rand-Air (Atlas Copco Rental South Africa), market leaders in portable compressed air and power generation rental. The Fair Cape Dairies management team undertook to innovate the market with products that flow from their strategic value of passion for quality. “In our quest to become the top dairy brand in the country, partnerships with our suppliers forms a critical role in assisting us to create a successful production operation. Outsourcing to companies like Rand-Air allows us to focus on our core business,” explains Johan Boshoff, Operations Director at Fair Cape Dairies.

“Fair Cape Dairies has been a client of ours for a number of years and currently have a total of five of our long-term compressors on hire at three of their sites. Historically air compressors used large amounts of electricity, were extremely noisy and unreliable. With advancements in technology, this has changed,” says Brenda Couch, Rand-Air’s Business Development Manager for the Cape Region. Keeping milk cooled at a consistent temperature prevents high bacteria counts. “Our GA55 VSD, GA75 VSD and GA37 VSD compressors deliver the consistent, dependable cooling which is necessary for Fair Cape Dairies to sustain beneficial conditions in the bulk tank,” says Couch. “Rand-Air does regular maintenance on the machines that we have on hire which has substantial savings for our business. This also means that we have peace of mind knowing that the equipment is running at optimum at all times, contributing to a seamless process in the dairy plant. Rand-Air’s ethos for exceeding customer expectation is something that we have experienced first-hand on a number of occasions,” concludes Boshoff.
