Atlas Copco Compressors has announced the appointment of Chris Ferriday as National Sales Manager of its Industrial Air division in Great Britain starting September 1st, 2018. Commenting on his new role, Chris said:
My main aim for the new role is to build on the successful relationships with our distribution partners which have been developed by Keith Barron. I will focus on providing support and opportunities to our direct sales team, so they can continue to assist our customers with the best solutions, be that our market leading energy efficient compressed air systems or our fantastic industrial gas products.
When asked what he was most excited about as he started his new mission,
We have a very well-performing direct sales team, so I want to ensure that we continue to build on that success, especially during these rather challenging times by also focusing our attention on emerging niche markets and markets that are growing with the recent shifts in government regulations. There is, of course, also the challenge of helping our distributors expand their offering and grow their business. Our distribution network plays a big part of our business because we focus on offering our customers the best experience.
Ferriday rises to the position from within the Industrial Air sales team, with whom he has been since 2014. For the past year and a half, he has managed Atlas Copco’s distributors in the Birmingham area alongside his day-to-day sales job. Asked what attracted him to Atlas Copco:
I wanted to join a market leading company that thrives on innovation and that does not stand still. I was also looking for clear opportunities for personal development and professional advancement. Atlas Copco has not disappointed.
Commenting on the appointment, Stef Lievens, Industrial Air Business Line Manager said,
Chris lives by the Atlas Copco values. Based on his experience in sales and strong focus on customer-driven sales, digitalisation and innovation, he is the perfect person to lead our Industrial Air sales to the next level. With his infectious enthusiasm, dynamic spirit and his intrinsic determination, I am certain that he will be successful in his mission.
Building on a technical foundation established while working for the Royal Air Force as Mechanical Technician for Ground Support Equipment, Chris Ferriday held several technical roles before moving across to technical sales. He acted as regional and national sales manager for other industry-leading companies before joining the Atlas Copco family.
Our purpose, as a business, is not to push a specific product. Our purpose is to talk to our customers, understand their compressed air system, their factory process and their needs, and datalog existing systems before we even consider a product. We focus on utilising the entirety of our product portfolio for delivering a complete package that serves our customer’s needs, whatever those may be.
