Atlas Copco Compressors Attending International Manufacturing Technology Show
IMTS will be held in Chicago from Sept. 12-17
Atlas Copco Compressors will once again be hitting the show floor at The International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in McCormick Place, Chicago, Il. from Sept. 12-17. IMTS is the largest and longest-running industry trade show in the Western Hemisphere. Industry professionals from around the globe will visit IMTS to discover the latest innovations in digital and traditional manufacturing, experience more than 15,000 new machining technologies, and find processes that will help solve their manufacturing challenges and improve efficiency.
Atlas Copco will focus on its compressed air and gas packages which have saved manufacturers all over the world thousands of dollars on their energy bills. In addition, representatives of the company’s process filtration and chiller range will also be on hand to demonstrate how customers are putting their trust in Atlas Copco’s new innovations for many applications which extend way beyond the compressor room.
Atlas Copco’s newly launched VSDs compressor range will make its North American debut at the event. The GA VSDS is the third generation of Atlas Copco variable speed drive (VSD) compressors. VSD compressors significantly reduce energy consumption by adjusting their motor speed to the fluctuations in compressed air demand. When Atlas Copco introduced the technology, a first-generation VSD compressor achieved energy savings of up to 35% compared to a fixed-speed compressor. That number increased to 50% when the VSD+ update was launched. Now, the GA VSDS offers energy savings of up to 60%. In 2020, Atlas Copco celebrated the 25th anniversary of their first VSD compressor launch.
To complete the package, the NGP+ generator range will be on display and several customer case stories will also be featured. One leading example is for Atlas Copco customer, rPlanet Earth, who recently saved over $80,000 a month moving to Atlas Copco’s nitrogen generators at their company headquarters. With the price of gasses continuing to increase, and also shortages in some areas, the nitrogen generation range has proved a game changer for manufacturers who want to take control of their supply, while reaping the efficiency and environmental benefits that come along with it.
“IMTS has always been a week we have looked forward to at Atlas Copco,” said Paul Humphreys, VP Communications at Atlas Copco Compressors. “The show is all about innovation and companies demonstrating how investment in efficiency is essential for the future-proofing of their own operations – and that’s the perfect space for Atlas Copco to present our solutions portfolio.”
