The donation was made to Charleston based, Water Mission, a global safe water charity who have a disaster relief team on the ground in impacted areas that experienced historic flooding. Water Mission’s engineers are setting up and operating multiple safe water treatment systems in the region between Asheville and Boone, NC. Some of the larger systems can provide enough emergency safe water for up to 5,000 people each day.
“Everybody at Atlas Copco Group is truly shocked and saddened by the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene and our thoughts and prayers are with the affected communities.” Said Aaron Prato, VP Holding at Atlas Copco North America. “Organizations such as Water Mission, along with other agencies on the ground, first responders, and volunteers are working so hard and our employees wanted to help in any way they could.”
Water for All was founded in Sweden in 1984 and has supported water and sanitation projects across the globe. For every dollar an employee donates, the company adds another two dollars, making a double match.
Since 2001, Water Mission has served more than 8 million people in more than 60 countries. The organization has more than 20 years of experience responding to natural disasters and humanitarian crises with immediate and long-term safe water solutions.
