Secure Tools at Height
September 5, 2018
Working with power tools at height for site maintenance and plant installations has become a necessity for todays maintenance engineers. Bolting, grinding and drilling applications are just some of the many tasks completed in this way.
It is here that Secure Tools for Working at Height plays its part partnering with only quality tool companies to provide the correct bespoke tooling solutions enabling their customers to purchase the tools required for safe working at height whilst saving on capital expenditure.
Working at height always involves risks. The reduction of incidents and near misses with dropped hand tools can be achieved through safe systems of work and the use of professional tools and lanyards designed for working at height. The success of this is driven by the operator’s safety procedures and a well-designed tethered tool.
Following recent trials Secure Tools for Working at Height has chosen Chicago Pneumatic for its superior pneumatic and cordless ranges, safe in the knowledge that they have innovative industrial durable products complimenting many of the processes required in bolting, grinding and drilling applications.
Edwin Thomas Managing Director of Secure Tools says: "This partnering means that apart from our hand tool offering we can now offer the right power tool for the job, either as individual tools, standard tool kits or custom designed tool kit solutions."
All their kits contain easy audit foam tool control, so before and after use the tools can be checked to ensure all are present and in good working order. Every tool which enters their facility is referenced with a batch number and prior to dispatch is identified with a permanent unique serial number. This process allows for a complete track and trace program so that they can identify where every tool has been supplied, enabling an exact replacement to be dispatched their customer. The customer can also specify engraving to identify the asset number, company and site location to aid auditing and to deter pilfering.
