In order to protect the marine ecosystem from noise pollution, Atlas Copco Rental supports an innovative and sustainable solution with subcontractors and partners. By using portable 100% oil-free air-compressors, a “bubble-curtain” is created around the construction site, reducing noise pollution up to 90%.
As Taiwan is committed to a sustainable development of the wind-industry, the practice (which already is standard in Europe) will be applied to the offshore wind projects in Taiwan.
Atlas Copco Rental has already been awarded multiple projects to supply oil free air for bubble curtains during the construction of the phase 2 of the Formosa 1 project. For the same project, we also supply generators installed on one of the installation vessels, providing temporary power for the wind turbine installation.
We have seen a rapid development of the wind-power sector in Taiwan, and are happy that our oil-free air-compressors are used to protect the marine ecosystems in Taiwan. We have recently geared up our presence in the region with the initiation of a local specialty rental operation to better support the windfarm construction projects with temporary air and power rental solutions. It is very positive that Taiwan has a strong focus on sustainability and care for the environment, which means good opportunities for companies like ours who share the same views.
