How Atlas Copco Rental Italy supports maintenance at Portovesme factory

24 กรกฎาคม 2018

Successful project completed at the zinc and lead production site of a Sardinian company

Portovesme Srl is today one of the largest production companies in Sardinia and the only Italian producer of zinc and lead; it owns and manages two production sites and one landfill site in South West of Sardinia. Portoscuso production site contacted an Italian Sales representative of Atlas Copco Rental in order to supply equipment for a planned maintenance. The company had to replace a very large section of a pipe and therefore needed to interrupt the operation of their water cooling system.

In order to make this planned maintenance run smoothly, they used Atlas Copco Rental compressed air supplied with combustion engines to block the power line:
  • 5 PTS 1600 oil-free air compressors
  • 5 fuel tanks (3000 liter each)
  • 20 Hoses 3”
  • 20 Hoses 6”
  • Manifold

It was fundamental to have two technicians available on site at the beginning of the process and during the initial tests. As the replacement took place between 01.00 a.m. and 04.00 am the day after, 24/7 supervision and support was crucial. The Atlas Copco Rental installation ran continuously for about 27h and everything went flawless

Diego Zoccarato , Sales Area Manager East Italy and Sardinia.

The project was completed successfully thanks to the precious collaboration between the local staff of Portovesme and the Atlas Copco Rental team.

Atlas Copco Rental is always ready to run and manage every kind of customer request: customer satisfaction and well-done projects are our everyday goal!
