Lycopodium 'Jeans for Genes' Quiz Night 2021
Perth based company, Lycopodium, hosted a quiz night on the 6th of August in order to raise money towards Jeans for Genes Day. To help out, we donated a piston compressor which was auctioned off during the fundraising event.
As a long time sponsor of Jeans for Genes, Lycopodium, are one of the charity's largest fundraisers in Western Australia. This years was a huge success with over $40,000 raised towards Jeans for Genes at the Children's Medical Research Institute. Our donated piston compressor went for around $420.
What is Jeans for Genes Day?
Jeans for Genes Day is a nationwide fundraising initiative held in Australia each year. This year, in 2021, the event was held on August 6th. The charity's mission is to support families and children with birth defects or incurable genetic diseases. The day encourages children and teachers to join in with fundraising by wearing jeans and casual wear to school.<br>
1 in 20 kids face a birth defect or genetic disease, like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and life-threatening metabolic disorders. That's 12 kids born every minute worldwide. The aim of Jeans for Genes day is to help the scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute find cures, so these kids can go back to being kids.
