Atlas Copco Rental includes in its fleet high efficient nitrogen generator designed for the Offshore industry.

ANTWERP, Belgium - June 3, 2013 – Atlas Copco Rental’s new offshore certified nitrogen generator, the NGM2000, fitted with high efficient membranes is now available on selected markets.

Nitrogen is used extensively in the oil & gas industry for the drilling, completion and workover of wells. It is also used for pipeline services, both on- and offshore, in LNG terminals and in downstream installations. Nitrogen, being a dry and inert gas, can be generated on-site at high pressures and high purities (and thus low oxygen levels) to prevent ignition of flammable gases or to protect oil field equipment from corrosion. Offshore certified All components of the NGM2000 are mounted inside a 20ft, DNV 2.7.1 and EN12079 certified ISO container. The container is painted with offshore paint and designed for use from the cold arctic region to the hot deserts, onshore or offshore.

Membrane technology – higher capacity at lower cost Thanks to its high flow capacities the new Nitrogen Generator Membrane, NGM2000, is ideal for applications such as flushing pipelines, cleaning and drying of systems as well as for fire prevention in the oil and gas and marine industries. The NGM2000 uses high efficiency membranes to produce nitrogen. A bundle polymer fibre acts as a membrane allowing nitrogen to pass through while other gases (such as oxygen, water vapour and carbon dioxide) permeate. Primary air compressors feed the membranes, which can in turn generate a nitrogen purity between 95% and 99,5 %. Atlas Copco Rental can offer a total solution to match their customers’ needs, including feed-air compressors, nitrogen membrane systems and high pressure boosters up to 350 barg.
