A dear pioneer is retiring after a fantastic forty-year career
Retirements are often a great opportunity to start ticking items off from our bucket lists. 4th January 2023 marks the last day of Angela Tan’s career in Atlas Copco Malaysia after serving the company for 40 years, 5 months, and 4 days which also includes an extension of service of 6 years, 9 months, and 4 days.
Angela gave her farewell speech at a breakfast that was organized to celebrate her retirement. “It is now time to say goodbye to my fellow colleagues in Atlas Copco. It has been a real pleasure and honor for me to have the opportunity to meet and work with all of you. I will be looking back with admiration and gratitude for the reward for work well done in Atlas Copco Malaysia and look forward with anticipation to my golden years / new adventure. I believe the reward for work well done is the inspiration and dedication to doing more. A person who feels appreciated will always do more than what is expected”
“Thank you, Atlas Copco Malaysia, for taking care of my safety, health, and well-being; and giving me the honor as a long-serving employee and member of Atlas Copco’s Gold Club. An emotional farewell speech was also delivered by her manager. “I feel very sad today that Angela had to leave us but on the other hand, I’m happy for her to see her harvest her lifelong work to endless leisurely life. It’s been a pleasure working with Angela. I appreciate your contribution and support to us” said Doris Sim - Safety, Health, and Environment & Quality Manager.
Angela was also known by her colleagues as a very disciplined person. "Angela was very strict in those days, and in the last couple of years, she has become very calm. But she did a really good job and her disciplined nature which I like the most", said Ellango Rajagopal - the Regional Academy Manager for SEA-Oceania.
