When the opportunity for an exchange program presented itself, Boon Peng saw it as more than just a career move. It was a chance to explore, to see the world, and to open doors to new opportunities. His motivation was clear: he wanted to immerse himself in different cultures and broaden his horizons.

The exchange program took him on an exhilarating journey, and every day was an adventure. “Meeting new people and experiencing diverse cultures has been both exciting and refreshing,” he shared. The immersion was complete as he engaged in the APP – Atlas Copco Pricing Process, tackling projects that spanned across various streams. Each task brought its own set of challenges and learning opportunities.

Throughout the program, Boon Peng picked up a host of new skills. He delved into new processes, mastered technical skills, and gained valuable insights into operations that were previously unfamiliar to him. “I’ve learned so much, from technical aspects to soft skills,” he reflected. This growth was not just about accumulating knowledge but also about expanding his network and adapting to different working cultures.

The experience also had a profound impact on his perspective. Meeting diverse individuals from various backgrounds improved his flexibility and social skills. It made him more adaptable and open to new ways of working. “The exchange program taught me to be more flexible and to embrace different communication styles,” he noted.

Back in his current role, Boon Peng found himself implementing fresh ideas inspired by his time abroad. “Yes, I’ve been able to bring new practices into my work, making things even better,” he confirmed. The company’s support throughout the exchange was instrumental, providing everything from accommodation to visa assistance, ensuring he could settle into a new environment with ease.

Atlas Copco’s commitment to employee development shone brightly during this period.
