End of year message from Ariel Rubinstein, our new general manager
Dear Atlas Copco Customers,
As 2022 draws to a close, I wanted to highlight a few significant achievements from throughout the year. In the manufacturing sector, we have all continued to face challenges in our supply chain, as well as soaring energy prices, which in some cases, have trebled. However, we have once again overcome obstacles to accomplish amazing things.
Although there is no short-term solution, Atlas Copco Compressors is proud to have been able to provide various services to help to our customers reduce their compressed air costs and increase productivity, offsetting the financial burden somewhat. These include compressed air heat recovery systems, leak detection services and AIRScan audits, which identify tangible measures that can result in 25-30% energy savings. We also launched the world's most energy efficient air compressor, the VSDˢ, with energy savings up to 60% compared to fixed-speed models.
During the next year, the focus will be on delivering even more value to current and future customers in the UK and Ireland. We can add value by offering smarter and more energy-efficient compressed air and industrial gas equipment, which not only help users achieve optimal equipment uptime and reduce their energy consumption, but will reduce their company's CO2 emissions and help achieve a net-zero future.
Atlas Copco wants to contribute towards a greener tomorrow and has set Science Based Targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Paris Agreement:
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our direct operations and from the energy we purchase, to keep the global temperature increase to a maximum of 1.5 °C (2.7 °F). This means a 46% reduction in the CO₂e emissions from scopes 1 and 2 by 2030,
- Reduce emissions generated in up- and downstream activities, outside of our own operations, to keep the global temperature increase well below 2 °C (3.6 °F). This means a 28% reduction in the CO₂e emissions from scope 3 by 2030.
