SMARTLINK detects failures

SMARTLINK detects

SMARTLINK and our remote diagnostic center monitors your compressed air installation 24/7 to avoid that problems would deteriorate to failures. In this article, we’ve included some real-life situations that prove how the data, that is coming from SMARTLINK connected compressors, detects failures and, as such, avoids unexpected production outages.

Detection of malfunctioned cut-off valve avoided corrosion of vital screw element.

SMARTLINK’s algorithm warned that a ZR75 unit was overcooled, even when the unit was not working, possibly caused by cooling water that kept on running. As water always finds a way, this could result in the corrosion of a vital screw element in the heart of the compressor. A service technician was dispatched, discovered that something was wrong with the water cut-off valve and solved it before the installation reached the shutdown level.

Fast customer reaction on SMARTLINK warning avoided unplanned shutdown.

A notification from SMARTLINK notified our Global Diagnostics Team about a low pressure point, caused by a clogging air filter of a ZR200 Oil Free Air Compressor. As the customer did not have a service contract, a proactive notification was sent to take action. Thanks to SMARTLINK and the fast reaction of the customer, the air filter was replaced on time, resulting in an avoided shutdown.

Low outlet temperature notified a badly connected solenoid valve

SMARTLINK detected an outlet temperature which was too low for an installation in loaded state. When the Service Technician arrived at the customer’s premises, the Elektronikon indicated a loaded status while the machine was running at no load. After a check of the solenoid valve, the technician noticed that it was not properly connected, resulting in a confused controller. After reattaching the valve, the problem was solved.

Decreasing dryer performance indicated an oversaturated dryer rotor.

Our Global Diagnostics team received a warning from of a ZR200FF installation that the integrated dryer rotor came to a standstill. As the dryer rotor is responsible for 60% of the dryer capacity, its oversaturation might lead to permanent damage. Thanks to SMARTLINK, a technician was dispatched and got the dryer performance back to normal in a short period of time.

Why should you get your compressed air equipment connected?

When we talk about SMARTLINK, we talk about a win-win situation. The system does not only help you to get control over your compressed air equipment, but also makes us better at supporting you.
