On March 17-18, 2022 - Atlas Copco (Thailand) Co., Ltd. go for delivered the “Water For All” project 2022 at Chiang Rai province, the north of Thailand. Under strictly preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The “Water For All” project is the Atlas Copco Group’s corporate social responsibility, a main community engagement project. It is guided by the principle that clean water is a human right and the foundation for better lives. Through voluntary employee donations, Atlas Copco Thailand supports the Water for All project by double financial has provided clean drinking water and sanitation to close to 2 million people and supports projects worldwide.
For this year, 2022, we continue to support the local community in the north of Thailand to improve the water supply system and build a water tank at 3 villages in Chiang Rai province, Ban Mae Tar Charng, Ban Bartar and Ban Ruamjai.
As a result, the project has responded to increasing the accessibility of water for the 1,969 people targeted, which means they have enough water all year round, especially during the dry season. With a more reliable water supply, less time is spent collecting water, allowing for more productive and income-generating activities by household members. It also helps to ensure children and youth safe as they do not have to fetch water from a long-distance away.
Therefore, The community members agreed to contribute tariffs (annual usage fees) to the village water fund. The usage fees, ranging from THB 150-300 for annual household contributions, will be spent for:
piping system’s/ water tanks’ maintenance staff
repairs and other future maintenance and demand purposes.
“Thank you very much for having the construction of water pipe project in our village. From now on, we will no longer have trouble with insufficient water during the dry season. We don’t have to go far away to collect water at a river. I am so happy to be able to use clean water provided to my house.”
Finally, we would like to say thank you to our partner, PLAN International (NGO), who support us in this project. Atlas Copco promises that we will never stop helping our people and the environment. We are committed to keep improving access the clean water to people all around the world.
