Aerospace
It’s all about precision and safety. Aircraft are assembled with the help of hundreds of thousands of fasteners that are tightened with our tools. Our vacuum equipment is used to make and test satellites and space shuttles. Our vision goes further: we are joining forces with customers towards a more sustainable future in space.
Since the 1970s, every decade has seen aircraft production more than double. Going forward, the trend is expected to continue, even accelerate. This puts pressure on the industry to increase productivity while paying attention to sustainability. Newer aircraft are already being designed with lighter and more sustainable materials. Our line of products address the need for both productivity and sustainability.
Drilling: Several thousand holes are needed to put together a commercial aircraft, and the quality of each one depends on the drill. Our battery-powered drills, such as the EBB16, get the job done with a limited carbon footprint.
Fastening: Aircraft-quality fasteners must be tightened to the right torque. This calls for a tool that can help the operator do the job rapidly and accurately. A tool like Tensor ICB, a small ergonomic nutrunner with a trigger and angle head that can be adjusted to suit the application and operator ergonomics.
Compressors also play an important role here. Our GHS VSD+ range of intelligent, oil-sealed rotary screw vacuum pumps reduces energy consumption by 50 percent and conforms to energy management and environmental commitments (ISO 50001/14001). And since a lot rides on the wheels, our 2-spindle wheel assembly system is the right answer for aircraft wheel tightening and loosening. We also supply top-class vacuum equipment for satellite testing.
Our smart connected products, tools, QA platform and data collection software help aircraft manufacturers make the best of Industry 4.0 in a future of megacities, sustainability and increased mobility.
