Tell us a bit about yourself
My name is Linnea and I am 22 years old. I am studying my final semester on the Business and Economics Program at Uppsala University. During my free time I like to work out in the gym and to hang out with friends and family. I come from Enköping where I also live at the moment.
Why did you apply to the mentorship program at Atlas Copco? How did you find out about the program?
I found out about the mentorship program on the website of the program I study in Uppsala. It is hosted by a student network where projects and programs from companies are promoted. I applied for the mentorship program as I considered it great to get tips and ideas about my future work life from someone with experience and insights. I also considered it interesting to hear about how it is to work in a global organization and learn about my mentor's role and her way to a managerial position.
Tell us briefly about your experiences of the program
It has been very rewarding and fun to get insights from a woman and working in a field that I am interested in. It is great that the program runs for a full year and also interesting to know more about Atlas Copco.
What has been the best thing about this year, main lessons you have learned?
The best part has been my meetings with Karin. She has been very kind and helpful and answered all my questions. It has also been great to visit Atlas Copco and learn more about the company. Also visiting the Mine has been fun. We also had dinner together with all mentors and mentees, which was very nice.
In what way has this mentorship been rewarding for your future career?
First and foremost my mentor Karin has been able to answer many questions that I had about what to expect in my future career. She has also inspired me as I want to work in the finance department at a large, global company, where I hope to get a leading role. She answered my questions what to consider for future roles, questions about leadership and great ideas on how to write good CVs and job application letters.
Would you recommend others to join the mentorship program?
Yes, I would absolutely recommend other students to apply to this program. It has been very interesting and fun.
Can you imagine working at Atlas Copco in the future?
I can definitely imagine working at Atlas Copco. It seems to be a really good company, which takes care of its employees. There are also many career opportunities here and it is my dream really to work at a big company like Atlas Copco.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to start working after my graduation. I might take a Master degree, later down the road, but for now I just want to start working.
