Atlas Copco awards recognize innovation

April 8, 2013

Stockholm, Sweden, April 8, 2013: Atlas Copco’s two most prestigious awards will this year recognize the development of an innovative screwdriver system as well as enhanced customer service. The awards will be presented to the winners at the Annual General Meeting on April 29.

The John Munck Award for technical innovations is presented to the team that developed a superior screwdriver solution for the electronics industry: Jubin Ghassabei, Johan Wallgren, Göran Johansson, Jonas Elofsson, Mamoon Parwani and Helder Francisco. The very light, compact and flexible design allows manufacturers to use the screwdriver system for a wide range of products. It helps the mobile phone industry to increase productivity and quality in their manufacturing, and has set a new standard.

The Peter Wallenberg Award goes to a team that has led the competence development of service technicians and sales representatives within the Industrial Technique business area: Leszek Irla, Caroline Stulgies, Patrik Löfgren, Ataollah Maleki and Michael Schraft. This has enhanced technical knowledge and customer relations, safeguarding the quality of work done and increasing customer satisfaction.

“These two winning teams show that it pays off to focus on the customer,” said Ronnie Leten, President and CEO of the Atlas Copco Group. “Putting the customer first is what drives our innovation in product development and our sales and service approach.”

The Peter Wallenberg Marketing and Sales Award recognizes the most innovative successfully implemented method in the field of sales and marketing.

The John Munck Award is presented each year to a product developer or designer, or a team, for outstanding contributions to the overall quality of an Atlas Copco product.
