Atlas Copco Group appoints Koen Lauwers President of the Vacuum Technique business area

Nacka, Sweden, September 23, 2024: Atlas Copco Group has appointed Koen Lauwers President of the Vacuum Technique business area and member of Group Management, effective January 1, 2025. Koen Lauwers is currently President for the Semiconductor division within the same business area.

I am very pleased that he has agreed to take on this role.”
Koen Lauwers, a Belgian citizen, joined Atlas Copco in 1997 and has since then built a successful career in the Group, including international assignments in the United States and Germany. In 2023 he was appointed President of the Semiconductor division and prior to this he held the same position for the Industrial Vacuum division, both within the Vacuum business area.
Koen holds a master’s degree in electro-mechanical engineering from the University of Leuven and an MBA from the Antwerp Management School, both in Belgium.
In 2023 Vacuum Technique had revenues of BSEK 42.8, and approximately 12 600 employees.
Koen succeeds Geert Follens who, as previously communicated, will retire at the end of 2024.
